I recently made the tree change from Sydney and haven't looked back.
Many of the bus stops around the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney depict murals that are featured from illustrations from famous Australian children's book.
I have never seen one tagged or graffitied over. They brighten the neighbourhood and add a little bit of magic to suburbia.
It is close enough to Sydney to do day visits and still access the services, without the rat race and the housing bubble that still refuses to burst.
When the rest of the world saw the market bubble pop Australia just kept on rising. While we have seen things level out a little the market is still ridiculously inflated.
I feel for the current generation of young families.
So many have little hope of acquiring a home of their own, and rental prices are equally as fierce.
I have noticed that many have opted to leave Sydney and commute from the surrounding areas.
