So, as on many of our trips, we go online the day before we arrive somewhere to decide where to stay. In this case we were heading into Belgium and used www.wotif.com to find somewhere to stay and we found a castle for something like 80 Euros a night. It had good ratings so we thought we'd give it a try.
After a long day's travel including a foray into France, we needed a coffee to catch up.
Of course you can't stay in a castle without having a bottle of wine and it seems that there were people who had sampled the beverage before we got there. Fortunately there were some bottle left that weren't corked.
After a long day it was time for bed and we were pleased that the bedroom was modern. Looking out the window you could imagine people in this room, which would have looked very different. As for the stag's head, maybe they were all hunted out:)
And my wife was also satisfied with the lodgings:)
If anyone wants to check the place out, you can find it here https://www.wotif.com/Namur-Hotels-Chateau-De-La-Poste.h2680884.Hotel-Information
What the hell. Only 80 per night to live like a king. And people are paying 1000$ to fly somewhere to live in 5 star hotel with cockroaches crawling on the floor.
You made an excellent choice here.
