We have a Cummings On an 4000 in the RV. Changing the oil every 100hrs is recommended. It's really not difficult to access. Only a few items required a T30, #12 socket, a ratchet an oil drip pan & 1.6 quarts of 15w-40. Check Out @ameliabartlett

Make sure you top off the blinker fluid and change the air in the tires from winter air to summer air.
Blinker fluid.... What the!!! Lol we just took it in for maintenance, but the generator wasn't included. All tires and fluids are filled!
Good job!
what I picked up really quick was to drain the brown tank before the grey water tank so you don't have wash the discharge hose .sure you know this maybe someone out there doesn't .
Oh yeah.... That can be a challenging thing to learn! Make that mistake once is a sure way to never do it again!
Yeah. most campsite and state parks have dump stations but always a good idea to plan ahead when dealing with number 2 .
Would this be considered adulting? :)
At it's finest!!! Slaying adulting this week!
lol. get it! :)
with practice everything can be ...
Doesn't take much practice... Really easy to do!
That's all you, I don't like getting dirty lol
Lol I like getting shit done!
Manufacturers recommendations usually are very conservative. So if something goes wrong in the engine they have an out if you didn't change the oil regularly enough. Manufacturers do not want any come back during the warranty period.
My old Bedford 330 gets an oil and filter change every year. That's it! Even though Bedford recommend 100hrs like Cummins.
But consider this. My Bedford came off the assembly line in 1976. Has oil technology changed since then? It sure has. So why haven't the change recommendations changed to reflect this?
For sure, if you are working your engine really hard (like most commercial applications) likely you will want to follow the recommendations.
But if you are a gentle driver, know how to use the gears etc , for just normal RVing , you can spin that 100hrs out 2x or even 3.
Yeah overselling is what they all want to do! Keep buying and changing it lol this really needed to get this time!
