Jeep & 4x4 Lovers: This Is How We Do It In India

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Off-road adventurous are fast catching up in India - this includes manufacturer backed events. Mahindra makes some of the best SUVs and 4x4 vehicles for the masses in India and even assembled the good old Jeep some decades back. Their current model, the Thar, resembled the Jeep a lot and is modified extensively by users.

This was my drive for the day-notice the broken winch cable?

Here are some images from a recent Mahindra 4x4 event held in Goa - this was part of the "Great Escape" series and was purely for customers. I flew down from New Delhi to cover this - we had a blast getting lost in the narrow forest trails. So much so that my flight from Goa back to Delhi had to be postponed by 4 hours. Enjoy the images

Yes, even she was thereIMG_3996_edit.jpg

Powering it out

I was always looking around for safe spots to park my Jeep, run, take shots and then join the convoy againIMG_20170805_130008768_HDR-02-800x600.jpeg

The white one was stuck and I had the winch - tried coming from the side but slipped to the right thanks to gravity

Perfect place to camp?

Some sections were really easy

Tyre grooves were full of mud and hence this - no traction

Here is a 10 min video involving lot of clips that I shot via a Moto G5 Plus - no extra audio, just the raw footage. Enjoy - CLICK TO PLAY

Great Stuff. Have always wanted to participate in these adventure drives, but sadly don't own a Mahindra vehicle. Are all the vehicles sponsored by Mahindra Adventures ? or are these personal vehicles of owners ?

Interesting to see the restored CJ3 doing these offroad sections.

Nice clicks !!

Mahindra owners have to pay a fee to enter this event - includes back-up / support / breakfast / lunch etc. I dont think Mahindra rents out their vehicle for these day long events. And yes, the CJ3 did perform well

now the trend is catching up with 2-wheeler manufacturers as well!

True - do share some images if u have any :)

Awesome pics and nice coverage. Any detailed version with more pics coming soon?

Yes sir - via mrcar.blog coming soon
