By projecting vintage images onto the modern-day Guano Islands, Thomas Peschak created striking long-exposure photographs.
In this image, a fleet of guano-harvesting ships is projected onto stacked bags of recently gathered guano. The trade continues today, but in a much more sustainable fashion.
Decades ago, in the heydays of the guano trade, workers disturbed the islands' birds and handled them aggressively.
