Hello Steemit Family. I wanted to share my photography series that I have been working on since 1999. I became fascinated with writing on the body at a young age. There is a level of trust that happens in that moment when a person let's me write my poetry on their bodies and take their photo, it truly is a beautiful thing. Here is the first photo I took in 1999 when I was just playing with the concept, it's titled "Margeaux VS Cara."
As an adopted person I have always been fascinated by the idea of how are personalities are influenced by our genetics, our environment, and our experiences.
Margeaux was my birth name but my adoptive parents named me "Cara" which means "Friend" in Gaelic. Would the vibrations of a different name change the way I am today?
I was very much into self-portraits and self-exploration in my 20's (actually I still am today..haha). This next photo captures that feeling of being in my mind and how each new experience was like a birth in my life.
The last piece I would love to share with you today is called, "In The Search for Something."
When I started this journey of writing on the body I was really trying to find a platform to express to the outside world what was happening within. Often we are in the search for something but we are not even quite sure what it is and that alone is the journey.
