As you know, I grew up in Iowa, too. Hot and humid Iowa, with no air conditioning. I remember sweltering nights trying to sleep, sweating in bed. Putting up bales in a hay loft where it must have been 130 degrees. No wonder I became an artist! LOL

Without air conditioning would be even worse. We were lucky enough (and I am thankful) to have had AC growing up. I have a friend whose parents never had AC until after he moved away. I remember as a kid going over there in summer, and their house was so hot. BUT they had a nice swimming pool, so that was a great perk in the summer.
