These are the most gorgeous flowers, that almost look like they are made of wax. They are deciduous shrubs or small trees and are indigenous to Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, and as far south as Brazil. However today, they are grown as ornamentals in most warm regions. I came across these in Australia.

Those are amazing! They remind me of members of the Hoya family of flowers/houseplants. I think they're native to Mexico too. The flowers have the same waxy look, but look like they could be candy, they're so delicate. I have some seeds I need to try as daylight gets longer now...

They were traditionally called longtam (bad thai) translated as melancholy and were traditionally found in temples, cemetaries or courts. They now popularised and called wa la dii. I was so blown away.by them i painted a large peice. Inspired by georgia o Keefe
