This is Part 4 in a short series on the Miao people of Guizhou, China. If you enjoy it, please like and share the images so others can enjoy it as well, and as always, thank you for your support!
Men dressed in the traditional Miao dress preparing to greet honored guests with traditional instruments. The trumpet-like instruments resound off the walls of the valleys, carrying a beautiful tone throughout the area. Their traditional clothing, all black, contrasts starkly with the colorful and shiny clothing of the women of the village. As the men stand atop the hill trumpeting the guest's arrival, the women go down below to greet and accompany the people up to the village proper.
Before and after, though, the men relax on benches that are scattered throughout the village. With traditional farm life here, there seems to be not much to do until the harvest comes.
Great photos as usual Dan!
Thank you! This series has been pretty quiet in response from the community. Wondering if people like nature more than cultural images. Heh.
