This is Part 5 in a short series on the Miao people of Guizhou, China. I've been on the road for a bit, so you'll have to forgive my lack of posts these days, but due to a request from @thatdamiguy, I've come back to post a bit while on the move. Thanks for showing you care. It is really encouraging to know that someone, even if it's only one person, cares about my work. If you enjoy it, please like and share the images so others can enjoy it as well.
The Miao people perform a traditional dance. The men form the inner circle wearing dark colors, while the women in brighter clothing and decorated with silver form the outer circles. In between you can sometimes find older women dressed in the darker clothes as well.
The Miao tribes are usually broken into two categories: long skirt and short skirt, depending on the length of the lower portions of the woman's garments (the skirt). Here we have a village of the long skirt Miao. The villages are all usually built in such a way where there is a circle or square as a central gathering point to perform their traditional ceremonies.
Good to see you back :)
