I made some impulse buys after getting a new scanner and picked up a huge batch of slides a while back. These pictures span from as early as the late 1940s to as late as the early 1990s. These were from Goodwill and eBay (sometimes via estate sales). There are many thousands of these slides. I will be scanning some from time to time and posting them here for posterity.
This set continues a batch of slides that I bought on eBay a while back. I don't have as much to go on as to the ultimate origin of these compared to the previous batch I was working on. They came to me from eBay and most likely were picked up at an estate sale by the seller. Most of them seem to be taken in the 1960s and same individuals are included in many of the photos. It looks like there are some that were taken in Miami and some that were taken in New Jersey and perhaps elsewhere. I get the impression that Miami was a vacation spot for this family.
The first photo is not dated but like all the others from this batch it would have been taken in the late 1960s. It looks like it was taken in a diner. However, based on some previous photos, I think this was some kind of Asian restaurant and I'm guessing the girl is a waitress or hostess. Taking a photo with a waitress at a restaurant seems a little strange but maybe something you would do on vacation. As most obvious vacation photos from this batch have been from the Miami, Florida area that would be my guess at where this place was...but definitely just a guess.
The next two photos were processed in January 1969. The first one is really dark but I think it is a picture of a Christmas tree. The next shows a very comfortable cat stretching out on some kind of fur rug. I suspect they were both taken some time around Christmas 1968 or New Year's 1969.
The last photo was processed in April 1969. It is a shot of a table at some kind of dinner/celebration. Based on previous photos, I think this was an anniversary party for the couple featured throughout this batch (25th if I remember correctly). Certainly the location is the same though I suppose there could be pictures from more than one event.
