Graffiti Art in Kaka'ako (Part 1)

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Most people think of Hawaii as just beaches and palm trees. Well, Honolulu is the biggest city in Hawaii, and with it comes all the same things that you would find in any other major cities. Noise, traffic, crime, and of course graffiti.

Businesses in the Kaka'ako area used to be opposed to having their buildings tagged but now they embrace it. Today, Kaka'ako is known as having Hawaii's largest collection of street art, featuring art from local and international artists.

I took these pictures while walking around the Kaka'ako art district in early 2014. Enjoy.
