This Blacksmith Plover or "Kiewiet"spent a lot of time bombing me as I got closer to it's nest. As I couldn't see the nest, I wasn't sure where to walk. Once it realised that the aerial assault wasn't working so well, it then tried to lure me away by pretending to be injured and limping away from me in the opposite direction to it's nest.
As the aerial assault was done at speed, my Canon's auto-focus battled to follow the bird and eventually decided to focus on the tree in the distance instead.
