Photo Editing and Possibilities

in #photography7 years ago

Photoshop magic nowadays has limitless power. In hands of good photo manipulator/photographer one boring, and uninviting photo can become a piece of art or fairytale scene. You can change almost anything, time of the day, lighting, mood, add components to the scene, erase things like they never existed...final look of your photo depends only on your imagination.

To illustrate this I made a small composition, combined two photos, church and statue of an angel, erased distractions, done basic corrections (exposure, contrast, blacks and whites)...then I played with overall looks of the photo.

You don’t need too much photography knowledge or expensive editing software! Everyone has a phone and few editing apps. I have done all of my editing in two of them: MIX, and Photoshop mix.

Yes, it is true that you have to learn secrets of photo composition, exposure, basics of camera that you own, but there is nothing wrong with experimenting, editing, creating something totally new by combining photos, correcting mistakes, erasing unwanted things in the shot. The only thing that matters is the final photo and do you like it or not. You will sometimes come across one of the “experts” who will dislike your creation, but who cares?! The only important thing is to have a fun and stimulate your creativity. Best photographers in the world are constantly breaking the rules, that is what differentiate them from the crowd and making them exceptional.

I love this spooky look...I lowered exposure, added contrast, changed hue and raised orange tint. On top of it added a dark texture layer.

This one has a classic teal-orange look to it. To accomplish that you need to go to hue controls, move blue slider to a teal side, and yellow slider to a bright orange, and tada...you don't need a filter ;) .

These two photo looks are a product of applying filters inbuilt in MIX app; collage under them is just an illustration what you can achieve by adding filters. To be honest I made this composition just as a presentation so I didn't take care of photo quality. When you are editing small size photos (1000x1496 pixels) you will get artifacts, but as I mentioned, this is just for illustrative purposes.

And at the end, original photos used to compose a previously posted photo.

Simpatican tutorijal! Ona prva mi se najvise svidja jer i ja volim "spooky look". :)

I enjoyed seeing a lot of nice post and I enjoyed it so thank you very much

You showed us some wonderful photo transformations.

Thank you!
