Thank you so much, Patrick! That is the truth! I always thought the moon was easy to shoot until I tried! (honestly, though, the eclipse was much harder!) The weather is still delightfully warm and we expect it to continue for the foreseeable future.

Oh, I will have to check it out tomorrow. I used the clouds for effect on the photo on FB, but, I wasn't too happy with the results.

Thanks, I just hope they turn out. I found an old Canon EOS Rebel in a box of trash and rescued it... I'm still figuring out how to use it!

I found the user's guide online today and am learning about the settings

That was the first thing I did, Coincidently, I used that camera for a long time and still bring it as a back-up. The only reason I abandoned it for an upgrade was the flash stopped working and the estimate they gave me was not worth it.

What camera and lens are You using? Because to take pictures like this is not easy. And this is not the first time You do a great job with pictures of the moon :D

I use a Canon and this was was a Tamron 18-270mm lens. It is a lens I don't use that much. You know I am really all about the flowers. ;) Thanks for that. I am always delighted when I can pull off a shot of the moon that I don't have to throw away.
