Experimenting with the new GoPro Hero Sessions at dusk... again.
This time I used the little camera's "SuperView" setting. On the Gopro message boards, I found this description of what SuperView actually does to your image. "1080 Superview is "distorted" in the sense that the sides of the images are stretched out to fill out a wide screen while leaving you with the longer vertical view in the middle."
You can clearly see this effect in some of the stills that I pulled from the footage.
I liked the SuperView feel and the more research I did on the matter I discoved that most of GoPro's most memeroiable footage is filmed this way.
I also set the camera to Lock into ISO 400 with a 2 stop positive EV adjustment. The result was a slightly overexposed image to begin with, which progressively got better until it was underexposed. Though I haven't mastered the GoPro Hero 5, I'm getting familiar with it's bells and whistles.
The hardest part if getting solid usable footage from a flight this one is the mist blowing in at 20 knots! Maybe someone can 3d print me a small windshield wiper.
If you liked that flightlog video, perhaps you'd like to see a few more!
