The Beauty Of Decay (Can You Spot The Woodlouse?)

in #photography7 years ago

Hello Folks,

While my family and I were walking down the trail to see all the Seals and the Seal Sanctuary in Gweek, Cornwall last year. I noticed this stunning view of a decaying branch stub on a living tree. Something about it made me stop in my tracks and admire the beauty of this decay. There's even a little woodlouse working away on the decaying matter. Can you spot the woodlouse in this picture? :) You might need to zoom in to see. I'm running Ubuntu Linux so it's right-click and 'view image' for me to be able to zoom in.

My daughter loves to see all the rescued Seals and so we tend to visit every year when we are down in Cornwall. Gweek is a lovely little village on the 'quiet' side of the Lizard Peninsula.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Rob.

Very interesting shot.

Cheers, strange things catch my eye.

Life will find a way!

Did you spot the woodlouse though? :)

woodlouse?
do you mean a knott?

Not sure what that is matey. Zoom in if possible and look at the 9 oclock position within the decayed 'circle'. Little grey shelled thing with lots of legs. :)

I don't see it.

Ooo, it's there.......... lurking :)
