It honestly felt like we were walking on another planet. It was hot, dry, and there was no one else around for what looked like miles.
But nope. Not Mars. Just Oregon. This area is called the Painted Hills, and is quite out of the way from the popular tourist trails in Oregon. It's almost smack bang in the center of the state.
Right in front of you, the different colours of sedimented rock shows millions of years in time passed.
Smaller trails took us through a colourful cove with deep reddish-pink walls.
Another day in Oregon where we were astounded by the landscape's diversity. I'll never get bored of this state.

Beautiful spot!
It really is! It's further out of the way from the popular spots like the Columbia River Gorge and Mt Hood, but it's a seriously special spot. Far few tourists around, and cool stuff relatively nearby, like Smith Rock State Park!
Those truly are the best spots! Getting away from the tourists and being able to enjoy what feels like your own personal escape.
Wonderful shots and story ;)
Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoy :)
The first photo looks like planet Mars
I know right? :D
