You're invited to join us in the Romanian countryside! We are travelling to a little village in the Apuseni area. Our friends arranged a little cottage for us to sleep in. The family who owns the cottage introduces us to the most important personalities in the village.
These two gorgeous ladies are clearly best friends and were charmed when Alessandro asked them for a picture. They certainly surprised about a confused Italian running through their village barefoot with a big camera and a microphone.
We are wondering around the village as the sun slowly begins to go down. All the animals are calmly invited back inside their homes. Everything has a relaxed rhythm but there is constant movement at the same time - in slow mo.
THE COTTAGE
Andrada invites us inside and I walk through the tiny door into the little cottage. It smells of warm hey and lavender inside. There is also a fire going and the warm wood creates a homy atmosphere right away.
Quickly we find out where the pleasant smell of hey originates from - and it's not the most obvious spot: the bed.
Andrada has kept the cottage just the way she inherited it.
Andrada kept also the old vests, garments and properties of her grandfather and grandmother. A telephone, a weaving loom and plenty of little details that remind her of her family. It is a beautiful feeling that she shares this place with us.
BAKING ROMANIAN BREAD
I must admit that it's my first time to bake bread. Andrada and her husband do it almost every day. They follow a very sophisticated routine that includes juggling the dow, the fire and the baby. I felt very lucky that I was responsible for the dow and tried to fulfil by duties the best way possible.
Andrada tells me how her husband fell in love with her. She was playing the guitar and singing around a fire at a friends house. Her future husband saw her singing and wouldn't stop declaring his love to her every day until she agreed to go on a date with him. After 6 month, they married and now have a charming little daughter.
Andrada's husband is responsible for the oven and the fire. He has an elaborate system for stocking the wood in the back and a little bit in the front so that the humidity can't escape the oven. This technique keeps the bread juicy and moist.

I love that! It looks so oldschool haha. really interesting, thanks for sharing ;)
Hi @lovablesoul , thank you so much!
Did you ever get the chance to travel in Easter Europe?
x
I'm from Germany but unfortunately I didn't get to travel in Europe too much. It looks interesting!
How come you didn't have much time to travel in Europe? You live in the US?
x
I was more interested to travel far away. Everything else in Europe was so close and I thought I can always travel there some other time. Didn't know I would leave Germany and live in the US one day haha
I see, and is there any place in Germany that you would love to see, considering that it's suddenly far away?
x
yea, actually a lot of places. I'd love to see Dresden or Leipzig, I've never been to that area before.
