I have always loved Gerbera flowers very much. From the very childhood, they seemed noble and attractive to me. There are gerberas of the most gentle and bright shades.
A little background information about these flowers:
The herbaceous plant of the family of astroids comes from South Africa and the tropics of Asia. The history of gerbera from a wild African plant to one of the most beloved and bought flowers in the world stretches for a century and a half. For the first time, the Gerbera plant was opened to European flower lovers in 1717 by the Dutch botanist Jan Gronovius, whose name was given to Gerber twenty years later in honor of Gerber, but until the end of the nineteenth century this flower was not popular in Europe. This continued until one of the varieties of gerberas in the province of Transvaal (South Africa) did not pay attention to the Scot Robert Jameson. Gerbera Gemsonii (G.Gamesonii) and gerbera green herb (G.Viridifolia) became the original species of all the existing gerbera flowers. Efforts of breeders from these two varieties have produced numerous varieties of gerberas of hybrid with simple and double flowers ranging in size from 5 to 12 cm in diameter; White, yellow, orange, pink, different shades of red, only the blue gerbera is not grown yet. Currently, you can buy gerberas in almost all flower shops, both cut for the bouquet, and in pots. The price of gerberas depends on the variety. Naturally the most expensive are gerberas of rare and new varieties, especially flowers with different shades of petals.
I wish you all a good pleasant mood!
