Hey dear community, I hope you all had a weekend that brought some interesting experiences into your lives! In this article I would like to present some natural pictures and share something about botanical gardens.

I have visited two botanical gardens in recent months and depending on the size, it can also be interesting to visit them in winter because many have heated greenhouses in which plants can also be observed during the cold hours. Some botanical gardens already have a long history behind them and have existed for hundreds of years and they are not only important habitats from ecological aspects, but also offer visitors a place of retreat where they can come to rest and settle into the unique atmosphere. It's believed that the first botanical garden was created during the 16th century in Italy and it should not take long until more and more people have followed this example and decided to build some of these places of retreat and nowadays these can be found pretty much anywhere in the world. Most of the time, native plants as well as those from other climates are cultivated there and the size or diversity of the plant diversity of course always depends on the area and in larger facilities, thousands of different species can often be seen. Not uncommon there are also often changing exhibitions where sometimes animals or insects are exhibited and some botanical gardens even offer artists a place to present their works.

Most of the time there is something for every age group and some gardens have made it their task to orient themselves to certain cultures or themes and not infrequently influences of different cultures can be seen which is noticeable in the decoration and also from the scientific point of view, it's an important place to document all species or to conduct research. There are some examples of gardens that work together with research institutions and it can also be described as a form of education that is accessible to the public and not infrequently, there are associations that have formed in this context and have the goal of supporting natural projects and a part of the funds generated serve in these cases to support biodiversity. I felt very comfortable during my visits and this interplay of the different plants as well their properties that enchant the different senses is something special and it's usually also a good recommendation for people who have to struggle with diseases and a visit can contribute to healing and everyone who has never been in such a garden, should definitely put this on the list because it can be a educational experience in every respect.
