Honeysuckles

in #photography6 years ago

My followers most likely know how much I love flowers, they must have figured it out by now. I'm always having flowers indoor and outdoor as well because I believe flowers make life more enjoyable.

Perennials are those you can enjoy more if you take care of them and there are those who don't need any care. One of those is honeysuckle.

This flower with its exceptional beauty and lovely fragrance it is similar to weed regarding its resistance.

We got some years ago from an old lady who's our neighbor. It was one tiny little flower stem.

Most species of Lonicera are hardy twining climbers, with a minority of shrubby habit; a handful of species (including Lonicera hildebrandiana from the Himalayan foothills and L. etrusca from the Mediterranean) are tender and can only be grown outside in subtropical zones. The leaves are opposite, simple oval, 1–10 cm long; most are deciduous but some are evergreen. Many of the species have sweetly scented, bilaterally symmetrical flowers that produce a sweet, edible nectar, and most flowers are borne in clusters of two (leading to the common name of "twinberry" for certain North American species). Both shrubby and vining sorts have strongly fibrous stems which have been used for binding and textiles. Source

Look at it now. It's climbed on the front gate and covered it all. We knew this would happen so it's not a surprise. If you want to keep your curious neighbors away from your yard, you can use honeysuckles. They do the job for you. Next year I need to trim this jungle a little bit as the situation is getting out of our hands.

However, I love the fragrance, even have a bottle of eau the parfum with similar fragrance.

Now comes the question. Do you know this flower? Do you have it in your garden?
