I am not much of a bird watcher, but seeing these majestic bird take flight over a lake on a bright day, makes you really appreciate them. I was coming back from my morning walk with my camera to take foggy photos, and they day was getting really bright. I was almost home when I heard a swan couple flapping their wings and water splashing as they took flight, I could actually hear them before I saw them.
I of course had my camera still ready to go so I followed the swans though the lens. They flew really low, wings almost touching the water before they rose higher.
You might notice something different, there is an option to click the pictures open, and view them in their original quality, like intended. You probably know that Steemit compresses images, so they look like shit here, and I hope you click these open to actually see what is happening. I should find a proper image hosting site to use on the regular, do you have any recommendations?
Shot with the Nikon D7200 and Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8.
They look really good when you click on them! Not that they look terrible small. Maybe i just know they look great even though steemit shrinks and squashes everything. If that makes any sense at all... Someday i may learn to write coherently :)
Well then you have very good imagination I guess 😅
Well i do have quite an imagination but with photos here i know all the photographers work is much better image quality than what steemit shows.
I just ise Steempeak so pics dont look like piece of crap :D
Maybe I should try that too 😅
I am a bit of a bird watching nerd @evenuncovered though really a lazy one. I'm just lucky we've such a vast variety in my area so I can lazily just use binoculars in our living room to do a lot of it.
The snowy egrets, blue herons, and Osprey have all come back for the season and I love watching them. The eiders ( a funny little black and white duck) are also back and they make the cutest noise in the morning. They sound like this
Hahahah they sound super weird! Would ’t have guessed that is a bird noise if I didn’t know.
Yay, I can click on the pictures :-)
However you don't need to use a separate hosting site, you can host full size images on steemit just like I do on my own blog and many others do also.
There are quite a few tutorials out there about this, here's one I randomly googled:

(not my post, not my blog)
I need to look into that!
Nice camera..
The mirrored reflection on the lake is something I miss about living in the upper midwest. Takes me back there.😆
I miss lakes when ever I’m somewhere else, but luckily in Finland, there is always a lake somewhere near.
A morning walk to take foggy pictures sounds like the start to a perfect day. Enjoy those swans, I just have their significantly less elegant poop machine cousins the muscovys.
Swans are not that nice either if you get too close, they are actually pretty scary!
