I’ve been told dozens of times over the past few years that I should become photographer. Unfortunately staged photo shoots and weddings are not a passion of mine. And I don’t think taking pictures of surreal mountains and waterfalls is truly my thing either. Everyone does that. Yes, you may choose a different angle, or time of year, lighting, etc. – but in the end they all feel the same to me. I need to feel inspired to take photos.
I still REALLY enjoy photography though
After I got married we bought a DSLR camera, because that’s what you do. I had never touched one before and had 3 days to learn it. We took it on our honeymoon and next thing you know -- I’m up at 5am every morning taking pictures at sunrise. I was quickly finding a passion for photography. And here we are, 3 years later and I can happily say I know how to take a decent picture.
I give Steemit the credit for helping me get them into a Photo gallery. Without Steemit, they would just be sitting on a hard drive or not liked on instagram.
How I got these pictures into the gallery may surprise you, if you haven’t figured it out already, but it’s another passion of mine as well.
I wouldn't call it magic but it works the same way.
And I left the pictures large so you could tell what you're looking at..
So the truth is they really are my photos but I created my own Photo Gallery for them. I've seen all the awesome work other people on here have done and the amazing trips they've taken. But I haven't done that yet and neither have I been to anywhere worth bragging about. So I figured I would bring the photo gallery to me and make my own exhibit. I used my knowledge of Photography, Photoshop, Lightroom, Sketchup, and IndigoRenderer to accomplish this.
Obviously I don't have the best photography out there but I don't think I have the worst either. I'm happy being somewhere in the middle. But if you for some odd reason have the urge to want your photography in a gallery of your own, I can do that. I'll take more time with it too and make your gallery even more interesting than mine. And It'll only cost you some Steem or Bitcoin ;)
Anyway, I did want to end this post with my actual photos because I do like them - which one do you like best?

Remember, the Page Down/End key is your friend
Wow. Some really creative shots here. Fourth one up from the bottom is my favourite. Don't know why but reminds me of a scene I have seen somewhere. Where is it? Anyway thanks for sharing your story and your work.
Thanks :) That picture is from Dolly Sods West Virginia. It's a high plateau/mountainous region that has been thought to have the closest terrain on the east coast comparable to Alaska. I snapped that picture last fall on a cold windy day - but it was so beautiful there.
Cool thanks.
Your work is fantastic. Really it is. Steemit shouldnt be your only platform, you should look at posting in other places as well.
Thanks for the kind words. I'll get there.. someday.. Maybe sooner rather than later.
Great work.
Very beautiful photos. I love the red clouds above the horizon. Keep steeming!
Thank you, believe it or not that's not even photoshopped. I just edited it a little in Lightroom but for the most part that's the clouds looked like that day.
Probably one of the prettiest cloudy sunsets I've ever seen.
Both dogs are very sadly. :(
They're just posing ;)
I like funny dog :)
