Something about spruce tree:
A spruce is a tree of the genus Picea, a genus of about 35 species of coniferous evergreen trees in the family Pinaceae, found in the northern temperate and boreal (taiga) regions of the Earth. Spruces are large trees, from about 20β60 m (about 60β200 ft) tall when mature, and can be distinguished by their whorled branches and conical form. The needles, or leaves, of spruces are attached singly to the branches in a spiral fashion, each needle on a small, peg-like structure. The needles are shed when 4β10 years old, leaving the branches rough with the retained pegs (an easy means of distinguishing them from other similar genera, where the branches are fairly smooth).
Spruce seedlings are most susceptible immediately following germination, and remain highly susceptible through to the following spring. More than half of spruce seedling mortality probably occurs during the first growing season and is also very high during the first winter, when seedlings are subjected to freezing damage, frost heaving and erosion, as well as smothering by litter and snow-pressed vegetation. Seedlings that germinate late in the growing season are particularly vulnerable because they are tiny and have not had time to harden off fully.

Hi, i love this photo, thanks for share!
it s like they saying to me, life, live happy, take care of nature please , terrific post
Spruces always make me think of my mother. When I was a kid growing up in the US, every year on Thanksgiving day, while the turkey was in the oven, my mother and I would hop in the car and head over Truly Nolen. If you are from the US, you probably know Truly Nolen as pest control, but apparently they also used to see Christmas Trees during the season, and they always opened on Thanksgiving day.
My mother loved blue spruce as a Christmas tree, but since its needles were prickly and we lived in Florida which got no snow, she would get it flocked white... will tiny glitter made of gold stars all over it. It would arrive about a week later, just in time for the start of the Christmas season in December, back when it actually started in December!
Ecologically, it was probably a disaster, but for my mom, and subsequently for me, that tree ever symbolized Christmas. Thank you for reminding me of that moment with your photos.
I wish i could take some photos like this with my smartphone, but I get tired after trying for more than 30 minutes (not just me but also my phone, LOL) I will try harder...thanks for sharing the pics and information
Very beautiful and gentle picture ...
