This is the ceiling in the National Portrait Gallery in central Edinburgh, Scotland. The ceiling is detailed with paintings of the constellations and four intricate stain glass lamps hang from it. Its a beautiful ceiling and I can only imagine how long it took to paint that by hand.
The portrait gallery is, as you may have guessed by the name, a place dedicated to the art of portraiture. They often have exhibits of modern portraits and other forms of art, however upstairs there is a permanent gallery of famous, and very old portraits. Ever wanted to know what the real William Wallace looked like? He looks like this:
