Street Photography - The Long Good-Bye

They say the best camera is the one you have with you. In this case I was taking my sister and her kids to the train station (they were headed back to London) so all I had with me was my iPhone when I noticed this couple having a romantic moment.

I wonder what their story is..

I posted this shot a while ago on reddit, it got a mixed reception. People either loved it or attacked me for invading the couple's privacy. Personally I don't think I did, they're not recognisable and they didn't notice me. They were in a public place, with lots of cctv everywhere so to me it makes no sense. What do you think? Street photography, good or bad? Invasion of privacy or art?

Thanks for Looking.

I think it's a beautiful shot.

And as you say, you can't recognise them even if you'd know them. Perhaps they'd have liked it if you had approached them to say you take pictures of what you think of are beautiful moments. They'd probably loved the picture as well.
Really nice shot, thumbs up. :)

Thanks! Yeah I didn't really think about that until much later, but you are right, if it was me I would have wanted a copy! :)

Looks like a scene from a movie, and that degraded quality just adds to the feel :)

Thanks :) I thought so too. I wondered if maybe i should also do a black and white version.

Sure you can try, but i find the colors very appealing and suiting the topic :)

I might, but I do like the color version. I'll think about it. :)

Hehe, you like the love theme. This one is great too.

Thanks! Yeah it's a great theme, especially when its candid moments like this :)

A lot of people say that a photographer should approach people and show them their photo after it was taken, but I'm just too shy to do that 😅
and I think it's ok to take photos of people in public places; they know that other people can see them, right?

my thoughts exactly, also I would be too shy to approach them, and they didn't look like they wanted to be interrupted by some stranger :)
