These pictures were taken at Real de Catorce in Mexico and were created by the native Huicholes who work for ages with the psychoactive Peyote cactus.

The picture above is a huge six-piece artwork made out of woolen cloth on bees wax. It depicts the shamanic journey and the birth of the sun.

The pictures below are 3D bead work with visonary colors and symbolism.

I love it. Does that price tag on the tiger/skull say 3300 pesos? At first it seems expensive, but actually it's a good price for something so intricate and beautiful.

We stopped by in Real de Catorce, I guess nearly 2 years ago now. Then we went out to Estación Catorce for the journey. It was crazy. I'd like to go out there again. I'll probably be back in Mexico in a few months.

Buen viaje y suerte amigo!

Wow, I love to hear more about your experience. It was such a magical place.

I wrote this piece about it A life altering peyote trip.

If we did it again, I'd definitely do a lot of things differently. Most importantly, I'd take more care to be respectful of the plant and the land.

What was your experience like out there?

Huichol art is incredible, it shows the experiences they have had with this sacred plant that opens their hearts!
I love

Fucking awesome art.

Not this modern art crap where you shit against a canvas and sell it for millions.

The multiple colors could be the energies of the chakras.

I agree, the mentioned kind of art is not for me either. Visionary art on the other hand is always a piece of mystery and wonder - and closer true the truth of reality than most people will ever realize during their physical jourey.

Wonderful Art @flauwy , Art Speaks where words are unable to explain !

i like it!!!! baby
we are your fan club
be like this

Woohoooo! I know who you are! ;)

Don't suppose you have any detail photos to show off the bead work more? Either way, great stuff!

Right-click on the image and select "view image" for higher resolution. Or do you want more photos?

I did! And yeah, I was curious if you did have more photos that were more 'detail focused'. I'd definitely spend more time with a larger collection of these images.

cool to see!
is there more info somewhere on the artists who made these?
resteemed!

The main image is called "Nacimiento del sol" but I could not find the name of the artist. I know that he is dead already.

The bead work was done by Bruno and Margeritha Bautista from Artesanias Wirikuta.

Cool! Thank you !

This is amazing, thanks for sharing...

these looks really incredible great work people have done there :)

Sounds like you are having a great time!!

Stunning art @flauwy I just love these visionary images .. they speak to you on so many levels. Thank you for sharing.

Yes, they show so much of our own spiritual path.

These are beautiful @flauwy! Very intricate and detailed awesome. Thanks for sharing these lovely artworks!

I just had to share these. Looked even better in reality.

Trippy! Trippy! And otherworldly beautiful! :))

Yes, very trippy. And very real. ;)

oooy a love the skull it looks is the best tattoo of all time.

Yeah, the skull was really impressive. Good idea for a tattoo. :)

The 3D bead work on the elk looks great, I would imagine the animal looks like this in spiritual peyote world :D Im having a great time figuring out the birth of the sun and shaman journey on the six piece artwork.

The elk is rather a deer and one of the most important spirit animals of the Huicholes. You can see it also in the face of the sun as it forms its nose and third eye. :)

Some fantastic artwork. I've heard that Real de Catorce is famous for its spiritual energy. Sounds like a fascinating place to visit.

Something special to experience!

Hi, I know that you are traveling but can you direct me to the person who is developing steemconnect? I am trying to use it to open an account and am getting a console error...

No clue who does that but here is the official repository: https://github.com/steemit/steemconnect

You can write a bug report on Utopian about it.

Thank you so much!!!

The colors are great and the designs so intricate. What a contrast to the rocky desert environment.

And yet these visions came out of this sacred place. There is more to our reality than meets the eye - a first.

How can I get it resteemed into my House please?!

Indeed the colors of something animated! Love the mix of tribal and psy...
Could not fit better.

Artakush picks bones in the bush...

The big main image looked even cooler in reality with its colors.

wow this is amazing and very colourful, so woke... many visions...

Woke indeed!

Those pieces of art are just so wow. It's a good thing that there are still many who know how to give value to their own culture. Salute to the artists! 👍👍

Yes, they are keeping true to their traditions. We can learn a lot from them.

Very nice

thanks for the new blog. that is great and nice photography.

Wow! this is really a fantastic work

Great share! @flauwy

i love the pictures mustve been a good time in Mexico

I'm so fascinated by pictures like the last one. Do you know what it is about the sun and moon in Mexico? I just came home from a 4-weeks-trip to Mexico and Guatemala and saw the symbol of the sun and the moon in different places. I am very interested in the meaning of it.
