A trip to Commerce, GA. Had some great clear skies for long exposure night photography.
I got up around 2am on the clearest day of the week while I was up there.
I did some long exposure shots of the house, made for good landscape astrophotography scenes.
Aiming directly up, got 100s if not 1000s of stars with my full spectrum camera. I am not using a UV/IR cut filter in these photos.
The property has a long fence, I was really glad it showed up well in the shots.
The stairway can be seen for the cottage.
Another area of the sky, I shot at 1600 ISO with a 10mm SLRmagic lens. Aperture of around 2.
There was about 10% cloud cover, so small wispy clouds were captured in these photos.
The top of the cottage, with a 15 second exposure.
Going from a 400 iso to 1600 made a huge difference.

Yes you are right. It is more like airglow than the aurora. Amazing pictures! Didn't realise that you could pick up airglow as far south as that. Always thought it was more of a northern thing
Very cool, yep anywhere it's dark enough it will come up. It has to do with the chemicals I the air I think.
good to know :)
Some beautiful pictures :), lovely clear skies
Amazing shots!
