But is it poisonous?
I found a plain looking mushroom yesterday that had sprouted up in my backyard. It looks rather benign and quite tasty. But I have no idea if it's safe to eat.
Do any fellow Steemites know which mushroom this may be?
I'm not crazy but I do want to eat it. I'm very interested in learning about mushrooms and harvesting some from the wild. They taste the best.

does it bruise blue when touched?
I did poke it but not very hard. It's firmer, not too spongy. I don't think it contains any of those bluish spores. I'm trying to cross reference with a book I have too. Thanks for the comment @henslee.
I only eat wild puffball mushrooms just because any other mushroom can easily be mistakin.. Youtube it!
I think that's the safer route @jacobcards but I really want to get into mushrooming more and am ready to dip a toe in. I have a book that I'm going to cross reference with too. Thanks for the comment.
What color are the gills? Compare to stropharia http://www.mushroomexpert.com/stropharia.html
@jetjockey the gills look more brown to me. Kinda like a normal store bought mushroom.
