It's been a while since I've written or even been around on steemit. I think I even forgot how to use markdown, good thing I had a draft saved somewhere. Just wanted all my steemit friends to know I'm fine. I'm alive, just very busy. I've been covering all the political events happening in Venezuela right now.
I'm active on instagram (same user name) sharing daily all the events. So if you are curious, you can always contact me there.
I'll just go ahead and share some of the recent pics. But if you have any questions, feel free to comment and whenever I have time I'll be happy to clear some doubts. To be honest, I don't even know how to explain everything. I feel like I'm in the turn point of a Netflix Narcos Series. It's scary and exciting at the same time. It all really comes down to what the government has planned and what their next move is.
I'll share some of my photographic experience in all of this. Taking photos in a crowded place with other 50 photojournalist is a crazy adventure. Specially if you are as tall as a 12 year old (yeah I’m short). You have to think quick, and be ready for anything, compose and follow your instinct. It's hard not being able to control the environment, it's not like you can tell the president to move a bit to the left. So you have to move around a lot and try your best to compose with what there is and do it quick. I've also been smashed and stepped over so many times, I'm getting used to it. But it's a challenge trying to capture something different than all the other 50 people with cameras.
It’s overwhelming to sit next to international reuters photographers with 3 or 4 cameras hanging from their neck, and a 400 2.8 lens that weighs more than my kid. But you get to learn from the best and make good friends. Personally, being able to document the history of my country is a feeling I can't describe. Photography is my passion, it's my eternal love, and if it helps and has meaning it's the best thing ever. Being able to tell my kid one day “Hey, I was there! And I took that photo”. Documenting what we are currently living is important even more because of the censorship we live. It's dangerous, I can't lie, but we all have to put our effort into this. Just being there and seeing so many tears of joy, and so many people full of hope again is incredible. This war is not over, it might just be the beginning, but it's the first time in so many years we actually have a fighting chance.
That's all I have for today. I was going to upload more photos but for some reason it didn't let me. Hugs and thanks to all those who have always supported me here in the platform. Hopefully, when all this mess is over I'll have a lot of free time and freedom of speech to keep on posting whatever and whenever I want.

Good to see you back here (lucky me diring my vitamin D walk😎)! Did see some of your pictures at your instagram already but I still prefer to follow people by Steem sources. So I think @bil.prag is right you can use other tools like appics in my point of view, but you need to find a balance between those and there still should be great posts like these. Am I right or did I always understand the “rules” by curie wrong?😇 even a curie curator can’t create only quality posts, they are already way to busy curating other stuff!

Curie "rules" are really only "guidelines", which of course does not mean the same thing. Curie will upvote even a single photo post if that photo is amazing and the reviewer agrees it is worth the upvote.
Well, maybe not a single photo post, but it should have some information. I've literally had no time to get online. And my phone got stolen on one of the days I was taking photos. So I am now using an old little phone, which I don't know is capable of supporting any apps. It has only 8gb of space lol. But I'll try. Specially cause I do want people to know what is happening.
i am not curie but from the beginning we were told to not make short posts i almost feel guilty to post from appics 😁 but all new apps will change what we see on the chain. one thing that lacks is sorting content by apps. steempeak made possible filtering channels by tags, and that is the first step

I love a good underdog story! You shove those Reuter photographers and their 7 cameras around their neck. You are recording a pivotal moment not only in the history of your country but of the entire world. All eyes are on you, no pressure lol!
Well thanks for the pressure ha ha ha. Funny thing about photography, as much as you want to be true to reality, there is always a lot of each photographer in the photo. In a way it's "my" perception of the moment, so that makes my photos different from those from reuters! Can't deny, I wish to work for a big agency like that some day. Greetings!!!!

It is so sad what's happening in your country but I am glad to hear that you guys have a fighting chance, there is that glimpse of hope and that hope is what you hold on to, to fight through all these and hopefully, win!
The number of people that are out there just shows how much the country is ready for a change. It's great that despite the censorship, some people are still willing to step out there and hopefully, push boundaries and bring change.
I am hoping that someday, this will all be history and just as you imagined, you will show these photos, of passionate Venezuelans wanting a change for their country and the future of there kids. Of course, your Daughter will be proud.
Stay safe out there! Being stepped upon definitely doesn't feel good but then again, that goes to show your passion for photography and your country as well.
Your photos are amazing, I love that it did capture those expressions on people's face.

Maduro tried to implement something called the "petro" which is suppose to be a crypto coin backed by the oil reserves of venezuela. BUT, it really is just another fraude of the government.

Great photos! This is the magnitude of the support Juan Guaido has and many people, especially foreigners, choose to ignore.
I have been writing a lot about this, and commenting of some posts that have quite a biased and unsupported take on our situation.
I have tried to explain to people from other countries the compexity of our crisis, the severity of the crimes commited and the level of support most Venezuelans would give to anyone representing the possibility of change from this nightmare.
I loved the brightness of your photographs, the luminous quality of every shot. you are certianly being part of a new chapter of our history, hopefully a brighter one.
All our hopes are deposited in this young congressman who so far has been up to the task and who luckily will help us transition from corruption, crime, impunity, poverty, backwardness, and immorality to the prosperity and justice.
