Changes in Number of Hours a Day image

Formerly the Earth rotates on its axis faster than today. When the moon is formed, the Earth only needs to rotate for 6 hours to complete once rotation. Then how on Earth today takes up to 24 hours for one rotation?

The Earth's rotation on its axis drags a tidal bulge across the planet. As a result of that phenomenon, sea water will enter the place that should not.

Since gravity is two-way, the bulge jerks the moon bit by bit - like pulling a dog that is reluctant to rope - thus making its orbit faster.

The moon slowly drifted away from Earth. Energy to speed up the moon from Earth for thousands of years keeps our planet from slowing down. It converts the rotational energy into the orbital energy of the moon.

If the moon disappears, then the process will stop. The number of working hours a day will change.
