Beautiful one @velimir. Nice Rock doves
I really love pigeons. So many mysteries about them. Atimes i wonder how they fly around town and still find their way home or to where they abide. Atimes i come to the conclusion that they have an in built map in them. :)
Another thing i love about them is that they are so closely tied with human civilizations that it's not entirely sure where they actually originated from
You get to see them in township areas. They know their place, they dont believe they should be caged. They do whatever they want when they want.

It is incredible that they let me come this close, without any fear. It might be that they are not afraid because of large numbers surrounding me. Is it some kind of 'flock psychology' or are they simply not afraid of humans at all?

I think it's just exposure; the pigeons you see have seen lots of people and they no longer elicit a panic response, and birds in general are pretty confident in their ability to just fly away if something dangerous gets too close. You see the same kind of brash animal behavior on a University quad when it comes to the squirrels; they'll attack people, steal food, sit on your knee, whatever they feel like doing.
On another note too, we humans behave in predictable ways which are beneficial to pigeons, like throwing breadcrumbs, people feed them and over time a trust is built that the pigeon cannot be afraid of the hand that feeds them.
If we suddenly started hunting and eating urban pigeons, I am relatively certain that we would get a very different response from our avian friends :)
As for the lifting to our grocery shop, i would not recommend, :) it will make life easier, but i will need to walk daily so that i can burn of some fat gotten fromFresh Cheese and cream with pepper and onions that i might take daily. Haha.
Have a great day.
