Interestingly this is the same cemetery used in the filming of the creepy "Acid Trip Scene" in the 1969 counter-culture movie Easy Rider. The statues on this particular crypt were allegedly damaged by Peter Fonda during the filming. You can see there are heads on this statue in clips of the film that are no longer there. Production crew for the film neither asked permission nor received permits to film. As a consequence no other movies have been allowed to film since because of this except for pre-approved documentaries.
It is a beautiful, peaceful, serene locale that I highly recommend you check out it you are ever in New Orleans.
Peace, HM

Have to check out that acid scene. Those bad boys.
It’s creepy and kind of sad. Definitely does not make me want to drop acid. It’s on YouTube.
Aside from the phenomenal food.........St. Louis Cemetery was by far my favorite place we went while there. It is so beautiful.
I really want to go back.
Me too.
