We went to practice our drone flying at the Koke'e Mini Beach Park in Honolulu Hawaii. When we were kids we used to fish there. This tiny park is hidden amidst some of the highest priced real estate in Honolulu.

The Tour

I recommend you use Google Maps to find the park. It is hidden. Once you get there park on the street as the area by the signs is just for drop offs. You may be shocked when you arrive because the "park" is not even the size of half a football field. When you walk towards the water you will find the secret entrance.

The path is very narrow so be careful.

Once you get to the bottom the area opens up. Be very careful because the areas is very slippery. I took a spill on the algae when I was taking pictures. (Sorry no pics of the fall)

We were so lucky that we found a huge Monk Seal basking in the sun. The law says you have to stay 50 feet away from them as they are an endangered species.

When you walk to the Mauka (mountain) side you will find a derelict house with a dock. People fish and swim in that area.

If you are going to swim in the area be careful and stay within the walls. The area outside is tempting but sometimes boats and jet skis speed through the area.

When you walk to the Makai (ocean) side you can go all the way to the point. This is the area where we found the seal.
