Nikon DSLR cameras for beginners: select D3300 or D5300?

in #photography8 years ago

DSLR cameras are generally classified into three groups, namely the base, middle and top. Camera base class has a variety of names, such as the camera novice (beginner), entry level camera and so on. That this type of camera is designed to be easily used even by a novice, with a variety of features that help make it easier. Initially each camera manufacturer is limiting feature in a camera of this type so as not to 'disturb' the camera sales more above its class.

But as technology develops and the competition, feature in DSLR cameras slowly increased and improved. In the ranks of Nikon DSLR, there are two lines unique camera beginner classes, namely the D3000 series (which has been submitted to the generation Nikon D3300) and D5000 series (existing generation of Nikon D5300). The division of this group is quite confusing, especially the price difference both pretty much adrift. For convenience, let's call it the equivalent of D3300 D5300 is but plus a variety of complementary features and given a folding LCD screen. Both have in common such as the CMOS image sensor 24 MP APS-C without the low pass filter, and is made by applying the latest manufacturing monocoque body (more sturdy but still light).

As a beginner camera, both D3300 and D5300 remain designed differently with a secondary camera like the D90. D7000 and others. Eg can only take up to 5 fps, there is only one control wheel to change the setting, no additional LCD and no focus motor for a long time AF lenses. But the D5300 is still tolerable because I have some things that do not exist in the D3300, such as:

  • WiFi and GPS
  • HDR feature in Camera
  • bracketing feature
  • stereo mic for video
  • folding LCD screen

The difference D3300 and D5300 of figures / specifications:

  • bit depth / RAW: D5300 is already 14-bit, D3300 is still 12 bit
  • point auto focus: disposable 39 points of D5300, D3300 wear 11 points
  • metering module: D5300 wear segment in 2016, D3300 wear segment 420
