Padma is the main river of Bangladesh. The Himalayan festival is the cucumber of Ganganiri and the third longest river. The important city of Rajshahi responds to this lotus. Considering the direction of the Padma is 1,561 feet (489 m) and the average volume is 9 average 6 feet (295 m).
King Rajballav's fame was destroyed in the face of the erosion of the Padma, so another name for the Padma is Kirtinasha.
Padma is the third longest river in Bangladesh with a length of 366 km.
Nature of motion
The Ganges River originates from the Gangotri Glacier in the Himalayas and enters Bangladesh through Rajshahi district, from where the river takes the name Padma. The other branch of the Ganges called Bhagirathi flows towards Hughli in India. It joins the Jamuna River at Goalanda, 2200 km from its source, and joins the Meghna River at Chandpur district further east, called Padma. Finally, the confluence of the Padma and the Meghna joins the Bay of Bengal in the south, bearing the name Meghna.
Tributaries
The main tributaries of the Padma are the Mahananda and the Punarbhaba. The Mahananda tributary flows through Chapainawabganj district and Punarbhaba Bangladesh and West Bengal in India. Gorai, Baral Arial Khan, Kumar, Mathabhanga, Bhairab etc. are some of the different tributaries of Padma.The various tributaries of the Padma are Madhumati, Pashur, Kopotaksh etc. These rivers extend over Kushtia, Rajbari, Jessore, Jhenaidah, Narail, Magura, Bagerhat, Gopalganj, Faridpur, Madaripur, Shariatpur, Barisal, Patuakhali and other districts.
Padma river in literature
Manik Bandyopadhyay's famous novel Padma Nadir Majhi is based on the life of the people on the banks of this river. Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam has been influenced by the natural beauty of Padma in many ways. Some of his famous songs reveal the lost tradition and beauty of the Padma. [5] [6] Seeing the shape of this river, the poet Talha Aziz said,
"I live on the banks of the Padma,
I was fascinated by her appearance.
There are hundreds of memories on its shores.
At night the fireflies give light;
It seems like the shadow of heaven!
What a wonderful Maya! "
