There was a time, some years ago, when I stayed at the lake Chiemsee in Bavaria, Germany, for about nine weeks.
Vor einger Zeit war ich für neun Wochen am Chiemsee in Bayern, Deutschland
I met a couple of swans there, and we became friends. After a little while they trusted me so much, that they would lay down beside me whilst I was sitting at the lake, to clean their plumage and sleep.
Ich traf dort ein Paar Schwäne, und wir wurden Freunde. Nach kurzer Zeit vertrauten sie mir so sehr, dass sie sich neben mich legten, während ich am See saß, um ihr Gefieder zu putzen und zu schlafen.

Even after some years that have passed in the meantime, I still feel a deep love for them and I feel more than honored to have made this wonderful experience.
These animals are so majestic, so wonderful, so adorable. They were my angels, helping me through a very rough time. I will never forget them. And I will be grateful forever.
All shots were taken with my Sony Xperia on a very clouded day at the lake.
So beautiful, so emotional ... 9 weeks ... must be a sad story ...
Thanks Hon.
Thank you. Yes, indeed, that was actually a sad story behind my stay there, but it turned out to be one of the best experiences ever. That lake itself is a stunning beauty and "my" swans were just adorable. That was an extraordinary experience.
Beautiful beings. Swans and Bavaria brings my mind to Lohengrin.
Unfortunately, I can't watch the video.
There's an island in the lake where King Ludwig had a castle built and he was a huge fan of swans. I often think of him when I see swans - he was a bit crazy, just like me 😊
Haha yes, Ludwig was quite the character! You know he was a huge supporter and patron of Wagner? Without Ludwig's patronage, Wagner might have never been able to get out of debt or complete the Ring. Would love to visit castle Neuschwanstein some day.
Me, too! Neuschwanstein must be an incredibly beautiful castle. I visited the castle called "Schloss Herrenchiemsee" and it was amazing. The mirror hall of Versailles was copied - and there, it is even bigger than the original. I was totally stunned by its size and beauty.

The castle was never finished, actually it's only the building and a few rooms, 80 % of it were left undone. The King went broke (and into the lake Starnberger See shortly afterwards).
INES! as always ... love your pics!
Thank you so much!
Touching story, thanks for sharing.
I actually had tears in my eyes when writing the text. It was a one-of-a-kind experience.
So close, so beautiful!
Thank you!
I was even closer than it seems - I could have touched them but I didn't dare (though I would have loved to feel that indcredibly white feathers). Too much respect. And I knew they wouln't have liked that, so I just watched.
And sang to them when they were upset :D
