Pardela portrait.

Pardelas or Shearwaters in English, this birds live in open ocean, often follow the whales to catch some leftovers of their lunch, and can migrate with them close to 40 000 miles. They drink sea water and can dive to 70 meters deep. Pardelas come to shore only to breed, and teach babies how to fly. Not all the student pilots understand directly all the nuances.

This one felt down from the rocks to the sea and was trying to reach shore, but wind was quite strong so I had to swim with her together to the beach. She bites me few times but understood finally I don't want to eat her, and she even let me make some photos

This week in place I stay for the moment kind of rain from Pardelas. I live on the boat and last nights get 3 times same situation, young birds lose control at high speed. They hit mast or rigging, and fell down on the deck. Unfortunately not all of them can finish their study, one was died in my arms. But usually you can take it by the wings and  after a few swinging make it fly again.
