Sometimes even before leaving her pupil, the female butterfly has released a smell. This smell is called pheromone, designed to invite male butterflies. Male butterflies tend to come out of their pupil earlier than the female butterfly. Male butterflies catch the females and are sometimes ready to wait nearby. The male immediately marries the female so the female comes out of her pupil.
Even so, usually the male butterfly must find the females from a distant place. The female butterfly can be characterized by its appearance or smell. In the male butterfly antenna there is a detector designed specifically to recognize the feminine smell. Not all butterflies chase a female butterfly.
