Did you ask why the trees are having no more leaves? It's winter time, and the spent energy to maintain leaves would exceed the energy gained by the photosynthesis of the leaves (because there is not enough sunlight). Therefore in Middle Europe deciduous trees lose their leaves in autumn, but get new ones in spring.
However, in case you mean the conifers, they always (summer and winter) wear needle-like 'leaves'.
