I agree that luck is a factor but you have to have the good equipment to take full advantage of that luck, plus know the right settings and angles and all that stuff! lol.

Yes, yes, and yes, this is, why I have most of my camera gear with me most of the times - to be prepared :)

No, a professional wouldn't take so much with him, I think, but I am different, as you know ;)))

Oh, I thought a professional would have a ton of equipement with him at all times but then I have zero knowledge in that field!
Of course, they do take a lot of equipment with them, but if they go for a sunrise shooting they don't take their macro lens with them. I even carry my heavy super telephoto lens with me sometimes, and that's not neccessary when I want to take sunrise photos ;)
