You have to have a farm in the valley. The mountain pasture belongs to many farmers who have their cattle and sheep there during the summer. Of course, they rent rooms for tourists, but as far as I know you cannot buy a property there. Our cabin is there on goodwill of the alpine club, because my father takes care of their big cabin, but the property belongs to them.
The whole mountain pasture belongs to a so called "Almgemeinschaft", a mountain pasture community, which consists of many farmers.
If they'd sell their property they'd have no Summer vacation place for their cattle and sheep. So I don't think that anyone has a chance to buy something there, but maybe rent a cabin, although you might be right with offering "a ton of money" ;)
Very interesting sir johannpiber..I may have to offer a ton of money, buy someone's farm and then become a farmer over there. Or at least act like one. lol.
If you have so much money you can hire people who work on the farm while you lean back and have a !BEER
Maybe you can hire the old farmers, because you would not need to tell them what to do ;)
Cool, @janton, but you have to be aware that our farm fields might be a tiny bit smaller than the backyard you have had in Kansas - our valleys are !DERANGED narrow and the fields are small as well.

What the??? You can't buy a property there? Why not? Can't you just offer the farmers a ton of money so they can't resist?

Well I think it would be fun to do the farming myself, I was a professional farmer in Kansas in my younger days.
