My partner @brookeporter and I took these multiple exposures on a 35mm analog camera with color slide film during our road trip to beautiful British Columbia last summer. Somehow the film shifts very blue at night, an effect that I really like.
Funny, I'm meticulous - I wanted to plan out shots, draw them out and be super intentional - and Brooke was like "na." That led to a really interesting artistic process:
knowing that you are combining at least two images, but not knowing what they are, how do you choose framing, positioning, etc?
Pretty mysterious process. The result? Magic. To our surprise, they pretty much all came out great- only a few duds that I didn't include here.
Brooke got me into photography, and multiple exposures. We have an exhibit of multiple exposures up right now at a local cafe.
And here are some more multiple exposures from this road trip.
