If you've followed me here on Steemit, you have seen that my sister had the opportunity to go as a missionary to Uganda, Africa to help those in need in a small village. She gave me permission to use photos taken while there, since she was using my camera.
I wanted to take a minute and just express how amazing it is that she had the opportunity to help others and also say that it is on us to help those who are less fortunate. We all have bad things happen. We all have our own set of problems. Whether it is bad knees, Multiple Sclerosis, congenital heart defects, etc. we all have something. However, there are so many people around the world, including small children, that have nothing and have so many problems. Hunger, famine, birth defects, you name it. That is why it is so important to share the message of helping others when we have something to give.
Here are some pictures of the villagers in the town my sister went to. What I found so beautiful in talking to my sister is that the kids in the village actually loved having their photos taken. The biggest reason why, which actually breaks my heart, is that most had never seen what they look like, due to the fact that there are no mirrors or mirrors are an expensive luxury that most do not have. The kids there, still full of smiles, no matter their hardships. Here are a few snippets of them:
All smiles because this was the first soccer ball this child had ever owned.
Even though he looks really upset, he was actually one of the happier kids in all the village!
The smile on this little guy is so infectious. He's all smiles because he never owned a toothbrush, so the missionaries and other aides in the community were giving them out to the parents and kids in the village to make sure they had some sort of dental hygiene.
This child was born with his tongue secured to the bottom of his mouth. As a result, he consistently drools because his tongue cannot stop the excess spit. They have been working with doctors in order to find a way to make sure that this defect can be fixed. It is heartbreaking to see anyone go through something like that, especially an innocent child, but as you can see from the next picture, he is still all smiles and full of love!
There's so much love and so much love needed for people all around the world. It is my hope that we as a community of people can do our best to help those in need. I know personally that I take much of my life and much of what I have for granted. My knees are bad and have issues with my vision, but that pales in comparison to what many others go through. I hope a post like this can inspire others to do good. We are all in this together and it is my hope that I, too, will have the opportunity to go to a village like this and bring them the love, support and supplies that they so desperately need.
Change starts with you and I. If you can change one person's life, that one life can start a chain reaction of good.
One love and happy Steeming!

I picked something from what @jgullinese wrote "everyone has his/her own problem" yet there is still need to love. The world, for it to be a better place needs a lot of selfless individuals.
We are in some amazing times, Akon helped bring the internet to Africa, one bit at a time we will connect to the world through blockchains and a bigger better world may indeed help out the children. The truth is also coming and with that the real technologies that truly exist, now; will be given to the people. In time.
I like the part of donations am from Uganda although i find it absurd when people only take pictures of suffering people ,Africa has more to it than just suffering children hope one day we get seen for better.Thank you for the donations though and greatly taken pictures.
