I miss the sunsets

Picture is taken on the 21st of July from my dorm window. It looked even better in person, but my phone camera simply couldn't capture the beauty in all of its glory.

Sure, the days will start getting longer and longer in Estonia from the 21st of December. But that only means the days will start getting longer by about a few minutes, which means that we won't notice the light until at least February. That makes me sad and it makes me miss the summery sunsets.

The darkness is depressive. The only thing that would make the darkness seem a bit better would be snow, but since we are in the middle of a climate crisis, snow is very unlikely to be coming down anytime soon. Why does snow make the darkness better, you may ask? The reason is that the white snow reflects all of the light around it, which gives us this placebo effect as if it were light outside. Of course, it's just a placebo, but it at least makes me feel better.

I miss the sunsets.
