Waterfall "Tschaukofall"

Today I once again had no desire to go to work and quickly took the day off. In exchange I'll work tomorrow until late in the evening.

Heute hatte ich wieder einmal überhaupt keine Lust arbeiten zu gehen und habe mir kurzerhand den Tag frei genommen. Dafür arbeite ich dann morgen bis spät abends.

Tschaukofall - Tscheppaschlucht

After almost a year I was once again in the Tscheppaschlucht (Tscheppa Gorge) at the waterfall called "Tschaukofall" this morning. Unfortunately, the harbingers of the storm Sabine (Ciara) tried to spoil my trip a bit because a strong wind blew and it also rained.

Nach fast einem Jahr war ich heute Vormittag wieder einmal in der Tscheppaschlucht beim Tschaukofall. Leider haben mir die Vorboten des Sturmtiefs Sabine (Ciara) den Ausflug etwas zu vermiesen versucht, indem ein starker Wind wehte und es auch geregnet hat.

The waterfall "Tschaukofall" is on the hiking trail through the Tscheppaschlucht (Tscheppa Gorge) and has a drop of 26 meters. The waterfall is named after its discoverer Peter Tschauko from the "Deutscher Peter" inn.

Der Tschaukofall liegt auf dem Wanderweg durch die Tscheppaschlucht und hat eine Fallhöhe von 26 Metern. Der Wasserfall ist nach seinem Entdecker Peter Tschauko vom Gasthof "Deutscher Peter" benannt.

That was my second waterfall today, because in the morning I have already been at the Sörger waterfall, which is quite heavily covered with ice. That's why I thought that the Tschaukofall could also be iced over after it lies in a deeper and narrower gorge. But that was not the case, and to see the little bits of ice you would have to enlarge the photos.

Das war mein zweiter Wasserfall heute, denn gleich in der Früh bin ich bereits beim Sörger Wasserfall gewesen, welcher ziemlich stark mit Eis überzogen ist. Deshalb habe ich mir gedacht, dass der Tschaukofall eigentlich auch vereist sein müsste, nachdem er in einer tieferen und engeren Schlucht liegt. Dem war aber nicht so, und um das wenige Eis sehen zu können, muss man die Fotos vergrößern.

In winter, as with almost all waterfalls, it is not really nice here when the branches of bushes and trees hang like skeletons into the picture. That's why I'm already looking forward to spring when everything turns green again and leaves grow on the trees and bushes.

Im Winter ist es hier, so wie bei fast allen Wasserfällen nicht wirklich schön, wenn die Äste und Sträucher wie Skelette ins Bild hängen. Deshalb freue ich mich jetzt schon auf den Frühling, wenn wieder alles grün wird und Blätter an den Bäumen und Sträuchern wachsen.

My favourite is third photo,with big waterfall on the top and little one on the bottom and it doesn't have this wooden barrier and steps in it, looks more wild.

Yes, I know what you mean. The first photos should only show an overview, and Spring and Summer it looks quite different, because the trees have leaves...

Ciara didn't hit us here. It was a hefty wind in the morning and some rain, but not much more. In the morning there were many dark storm clouds rolling over the sky, but I have no idea where where they have then gone ;)

The depth of field is really fantastic especially in the first shot with the rock over hang above. I noticed on the third image what appears to be a climbing rope, do people climb that side, or is it used more to climb into a hidden pool?

Thank you, but I do a lot of focus stacking, to be honest ;)
As far as I know they offer canyoning in this gorge, but I don't think they jump from this hight. I think people rappel on a rope rather than jump.

I imagine they get a pretty nice view of the falls climbing. In Alaska during the winter we have people that climb the frozen water falls along the side of the highway, not a very safe sport, but still a pretty unique thing to see when you are driving by.

I would think the rocks are pretty slippery around the waterfalls with all the splashing, so not sure it is something even as a young person I would have tried.

That's not my thing neither - I hate to fall and always take care that it won't happen. As soon as I need a rope to climb I go somewhere else ;) Same with slippery rocks and such in rivers and streams.

Yes, people do ice climbing on frozen waterfalls here too. It looks cool and easier than normal climbing, but I think it is a lot more dangerous, because it's only ice that can break any moment.

Nope, they are everywhere - they jump from cliffs as well as they jump from high bridges everywhere. Why shouldn't they climb frozen waterfalls everywhere? Because not everywhere the waterfalls are frozen and not everywhere the waterfalls are high enough ;)

I have just found some time for Steemit ;) the day is running fast, but there are still a few hours left till I can get home. I have to work the hours which I didn't work yesterday ;) ... I've got to collect many hours, because in Spring and Summer I want to be more off work than at work, and I wonder if this will be possible ;) lol

Das Wasser ist so klar wie es nur klar sein kann und so rein, wie Bergwasser nur sein kann. Wenn ich es schaffe, dann fotografiere ich diese Woche das "Meerauge" - mehr sage ich dazu momentan nicht, aber es ist wieder sehr klares Wasser ;)

Sichtbar sehr schlecht und gesundheitsschädlich.
