Maybe someone can still remember Squirrelzilla!, the acrylic painting of Folker / @wulff-media.

Vielleicht kann sich noch jemand an Squirrelzilla! erinnern, dem Acrylgemälde von Folker / @wulff-media.

I took today's photos on the same day as the image that Folker / @wulff-media took as a template for the cool painting, and the paws and ragged ears clearly show that this squirrel must be a fighting monster.

Die heutigen Fotos habe ich am selben Tag gemacht wie die das Bild, das Folker / @wulff-media als Vorlage für das coole Gemälde genommen hat, und an den Pranken und den zerfetzten Ohren kann man deutlich erkennen, dass es sich bei diesem Eichhörnchen um ein Monster handeln muss.

So I have already posted some photos of this squirrel a few months ago. While working on my archive, I found more pictures today, and because I don't have the time to take a photo trip this week, I want to show these photos today.

Ich habe also bereits vor ein paar Monaten einige Fotos dieses Eichhörnchens gepostet. Beim Aufarbeiten meines Archivs habe ich heute noch weitere Bilder gefunden, und weil mir diese Woche die Zeit fehlt, einen Fototrip zu machen, möchte ich diese Fotos heute zeigen.

Die zwei Wurzeln

Zwei Tannenwurzeln groß und alt
unterhalten sich im Wald.

Was droben in den Wipfeln rauscht,
das wird hier unten ausgetauscht.

Ein altes Eichhorn sitzt dabei
und strickt wohl Strümpfe für die zwei.

Die eine sagt: knig. Die andre sagt: knag.
Das ist genug für einen Tag.

Who has ever seen a squirrel that can carry three walnuts at the same time? But apart from its tattered ears and clawed paws, the squirrel looks quite peaceful and kind from its faithful eyes.

Wer hat schon einmal ein Eichhörnchen gesehen, das drei Walnüsse zugleich tragen kann? Aber abgesehen von seinen kaputten Ohren und den krallenbewährten Klauen schaut das Eichhörnchen doch sehr friedlich und lieb aus seinen treuherzigen Augen.

That's no park, that's on the countryside, where I originaly come from, where my parents live ;)
The fence is an old fence around the farmers field of our neighbor.
Believe me, there are quite a lot of trees with fruits and nuts in this area - the squirrel and his family won't be hungry over the winter ... I hope ;)

Yes, in the city parks there are a lot of squirrels, but I don't like to go there. I prefer the wild ones ;) LOL
I have shot this little guy at my parent's house last summer, and it was just luck, because the next times when I have been there I have never seen it again.

The squirrels here don’t hibernate in winter. They may stay in their sleeping quarters a couple days at a time but I always see them in winter. They make tunnels under the snow sometimes and travel that way.

That's right, and they have their special places where they hide the nuts and other food they collect, but in the countryside I see them very seldom in winter.

I damn love this. so many cool frames here! the one where she holds three nuts - amazing.. not the best capture of them all, but amazing image, picture itself. what are these nuts? not funduk, not acorns... ? cant identify them. curious?

They are walnuts (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walnut) which are still not ripe and the nuts are inside the green outer skin.

You ought to feed him lots!

Dann versuch mal eines zu fangen - als Kind dachte ich mal, ich hätte ein verletztes gefunden und habe es aufgehoben, weil es auf dem Weg gelegen hat. Der Biss in den Finger war kurz, aber er hat dann einige Tage lang weh getan, weil er bis zum Knochen durchgegangen ist.

Ich erinnere mich an meine Kindheit, da waren wir des öfteren auf dem Friedhof. Dort gab es jede Menge Eichhörnchen und die ließen sich von Hand füttern und kamen dazu sogar auf die Hand.

Unvergesslich. Gebissen hat da aber keines von :)

Auf dem Friedhof und in den Parks sind sie die Menschen gewöhnt, aber auf dem Land im Wald sehen sie zwar hin und wieder auch Menschen, aber niemand füttert sie. Deshalb wissen sie auch nicht, dass ihnen keiner etwas Böses will.

Ist lange her und mir nur gestern wieder mal eingefallen :)

A goose bit you? I don't laugh, because a swan bit me in my belly when I was young. It was the first swan I had seen in my life and I wanted to stroke it, but I had not seen the young swans the swan wanted to protect from me and so she bit me ;) lol Since then I do have a lot of respect for them.

Exactly sir johannpiber. Well. I don't know how long squirrels live but probably not very long so it would be nice of his kids stay in the area doing the same things, maybe something you'll see little ones with him.

Maybe, but I also have no idea if squirrels build their own nest somewhere else when they grow up or stay near their parents. So, maybe I'll see that squirrel again, or it's kids ... maybe ;)
