Who is he?
Demas Rusli is a freelance photographer from Australia. A full-time graduate architect and content creator, he inextricably links his creative eye to his study of architecture which taught him how to compose images and some serious photoshop skills.
"I think both architecture and creating content for Instagram sort of goes hand-in-hand as they are both challenging your creativity in different ways."
He describes his work with 3 words: geometrical, human-scale, action.
He currently uses a Sony A7ii to take his magnificent photos. He preferres Sony A7ii over a Canon DSLR because this Sony mirrorless camera is a lot more compact and lightweight, but still provides the same full-frame capabilities. Also, because he is always on the go and trying to explore new places so that's why a smaller camera suited him more. The Sony A7ii also had an in-built image stabilising system, which is something to keep in mind for someone who shoots a lot at night time!
Top hacks for photoshop by DEMAS RUSLI
- Keep your layers neat and organised (this will save you when you have way too many layers!)
- Always have an idea in mind first before working in Photoshop, it will give you a sense of direction and purpose to reach the final image
- I just learnt this recently, but you can actually incorporate videos in Photoshop to create some impressive cinemagraphs!
His works are rich in detail, original and always taken to extreme due to mixing nature with human created things!
