Hidden in the northern part of Italy, close to the Austrian border, you will find on the most beautiful lakes I have yet to witness in my life. I came across this like by coincidence, a colleague of mine had a picture of it as her profile picture. I asked her if she knew where this mystical place was, unfortunately she did not know. Luckily googles reverse image search allowed me to find this wonderful place, and on my journey throughout central Europa I visited this place to experience it myself.
Please enjoy the rest of my pictures from Lake Braies :)

Amazing shots!
Thanks for sharing this @juliank and ...please do stay in touch
gorgeous little hidden gem !
Yes, you have to experience it yourself in person. My camera is not able to truly convey the beauty of this lake :)
No camera probably is :-) - putting that on my list
Nice to have made your list! Makes we wonder, what else is on your list? ;)
More or less places and hikes around Munich that I'd like to do this year:
Watzmann traverse + Steinernes Meer
Dolomites
Several mountain lakes e.g. 'Blaue Lacke', etc. (can't find my actual list right now :s)
Ah cool, if you need to relax. Next to Munich there is Erding, which has the biggest spa park in Europa ;)
yeah have heard of that and I'm probably the only one I know who has never been there but somehow I don't feel the urge to go ;)
The water looks so serene, thanks for sharing those great pics
You are welcome, glad you enjoyed it :)
awesome locations wow
That is such a nice album of photos @juliank, the reflections off the water are astounding. It really motivates me seeing pictures like these. I can't wait to backpack around the world :)
Backpacking will set you free ;)
It'll be so much fun :) Where have you travelled? And what would you recommend most?
Most of my travels have been throughout Europe on a motorcycle camping in the wild, so my perspective is quite skewed. For backpacking and hiking you will love the northern countries like Norway, Sweden and Finland and the central countries like Switzerland, Northern Italy and Austria. When you go down further south the climate tends to get really dry, so I recommend staying close to the coast for these areas. But to be honest, if you just go out and enjoy your time in nature you will not be disappointed.
Thank you so much! I'll add those that aren't already on there to the list. I'll make fun in the situation no matter what it is, I already live that way so I will take that mentality with me on my travels :)
Looking forward to some of the pictures you will be making of your journeys ;)
Wow - such a great post and beautiful pictures - love Italy !

What an absolutely stunning place! That is some beautiful photography right there !
I really love this one! ( I just looked through your Blog at your other photos and wow..so many more great photos.)

Glad you enjoyed it :)
Beautiful photos. Did you get a chance to practice your yoga out there?
A photograph only ever tells part of the story, this day was actually very rainy and most of my stuff got really wet. My motivation for yoga tends to be lower when I am wet and cold, was also sleeping in a tent so no real way to get warm and dry other than waiting for the sun. I do not think sun salutations would have worked either ;)
That makes sense. I only do acroyoga on sunny days! :)
Aha! Italy :) love it so much!
My road trip is almost coming to an end :(
Wrote a blog about one of the last days yesterday. One or two days still to go... But luckily we can enjoy your Italy pictures now! :D so pretty! <3

The lake is beautiful in itself, but the background with the italian Alps really seals the deal. Great pictures!
